70 years since the first activity in wheelchair sport started at Deer Lodge Rehabilitation Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1947.
50 years since the Canadian Wheelchair Sports Association was officially incorporated in 1967.
40 years since the Canadian Heritage Sport of ‘Murderball,’ or Wheelchair Rugby as it’s now known, was invented in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

December of 2017 – the Cdn Wheelchair Sports Association held a celebratory event for the decades of great work they’ve done.

Celebrating athletes in parasport and the builders who made it all possible.  Looking at the shots on Flickr http://bit.ly/2zHEc1O, the athletes look like they have aged well and happy.  I can’t help but think their healthy lifestyle, involved in sport, led them to looking/feeling great later in life.

Another reason to partake in Parasports!
